What is the basic poker game?

Basic poker game typically refers to a classic form of poker known as "Five-Card Draw." This is a simple and straightforward poker variant that is often used as a starting point for beginners. Here's a brief overview of the rules for Five-Card Draw:

Objective: The main goal in Five-Card Draw is to have the best hand at the end of the final betting round.

Setup: The game is usually played with a standard 52-card deck. The dealer shuffles the cards, and each player is dealt five private cards.

Betting Rounds:

First Betting Round: After the initial deal, there is a betting round starting with the player to the left of the dealer.

Draw: After the first betting round, players have the opportunity to exchange some or all of their cards for new ones. They can discard unwanted cards and receive replacements from the deck. The number of cards a player chooses to discard and draw is up to them.

Second Betting Round: After the draw, there is another round of betting, starting again with the player to the left of the dealer.

Showdown: If more than one player remains after the second betting round, there is a showdown. Players reveal their hands, and the one with the best hand wins the pot.

Hand Rankings: The standard poker hand rankings apply in Five-Card Draw, from high card to the royal flush. The ranking order is as follows:

High Card

One Pair

Two Pair

Three of a Kind

Straight

Flush

Full House

Four of a Kind

Straight Flush

Remember that betting rounds occur before and after the draw, and players can use strategic decisions during the draw phase to improve their hands. After the final betting round, the remaining players reveal their cards to determine the winner.
